About Our Founder
Empower Web Designs was born from the personal journey of its founder, Julie Aung—a path shaped by resilience, transformation, and purpose. As a woman, mother, and advocate, Julie has turned both personal and professional challenges into opportunities for growth. Julie’s core mission is to empower people through technology.
From a young age, Julie exhibited a strong curiosity and a natural inclination toward understanding how things work. She spent hours outside in nature, exploring cause and effect, and took toys apart and put them together to understand how and why things work—an early sign of her systems thinking and abstract reasoning skills. By observing patterns, identifying inefficiencies, and experimenting with solutions, she learned how to manage complex systems and approached problems holistically, understanding how one change could impact a network of interconnected systems.
Through Julie's HR career in technology, process optimization, and employee experience, she blended her passion for humanitarian work, innovation, and strategy to optimize efficiencies and humanize practices and procedures. Julie quickly became the bridge between leadership and employees, simplifying complex systems into practical, actionable solutions. Her focus was always on creating systems that worked for people, not against them, while also developing wellness programs that prioritized mindfulness as well as physical and mental health in the workplace.
In 2014, after facing the challenges many mothers encounter when returning to the workforce, Julie transformed a creative outlet—designing websites for friends and family—into a mission-driven business.
